O interno distante was composed between 2010 and 2011 at Studio PANaroma de Música Eletroacústica, in São Paulo, Brazil. The selection of the materials used in the piece came from strongly referential sounds that inhabited and surrounded the composer’s life at the time – from the recording of a wide variety of granular sound-producing objects, in the one hand, to very contrasting types of sound morphologies achieved by the fragmentation and transformation of voice materials, mainly originated from Italian madrigals of the end of the XVIth century. Although many of these sounds were morphologically distant, there was an attempt to make them work together through gestural units, elements responsible for movement, transitions, but also for convergence points in the space-time relationships within the musical materials.
