Straightforward

You are anyone, but whatever happens in your life, whoever you are, whatever you do, each breath, each movement takes you to the only one true moment. All of us steadily rush to it, to this very moment, when the soil will be dug up and will heaped over us several meters high. This is a straightforward move. It should be accepted. For going on you have to accept it.

We watch the performer in a wide open space where the center is totally occupied by furniture and household items – an island of a tight floor area where it is difficult to move without causing injuries, many of us live in such places. During an hour the performer exists in this environment, doing ordinary things, like taking meals, watching TV, sorting old stuff, reading or drawing, drinking, not answering the telephone, sending messages. To get from one corner to another, it’s necessary to climb over things and furniture – everything is so close to each other that there is no chance to step on the floor. All that happens under ritual burial sounds. First we hear the sound of a shovel digging up the soil, then nails hammered into a coffin lid, and, finally, a clunking and rumbleing as lumps of soil drop onto the coffin lid till the last one falls.
