“monodigmen” translates the loop-aesthetics of electronic music onto instrumental playing. Persisted repetition of short patterns fosters the awareness of micro-structures. The piece is composed of selected static conditions (or states) without any musical development. Monolithic sound-sculptures invite the listener to an aural promenade.
“I’m repeating one pattern for a certain amount of time. At the point of exhaustion I continue. Later, when I feel ‘now it could go on forever’ I stop.” (noid)
