The ongoing and fast technological change and the processual character of many contemporary artworks open a fascinating field of work. I started my professional career as an environmental engineer with focus on waste management. Inspired by art, I later added studies in conservation of contemporary art in Berne, Switzerland with focus on media art, which I completed in 2016. From 2013 to 2016, I worked at the Tate in London as an assistant time-based media conservator, focussing on the acquisition of video- and film-based artworks. As a freelance, I am registering and documenting software-based artworks for the House of Electronic Arts in Basel, Switzerland. Currently, I am researching preservation strategies for software-based artworks as a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam. This PhD position is part of the EU funded NACCA project (New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art, www.nacca.eu). At LIMA (www.li-ma.nl<\/a>), a research and archiving platform for media art in Amsterdam, I am completing the practical part of my research.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
