For her autobiographic film “Eine Million Kredit ist normal, sagt mein Großvater” Gabriele Mathes won the award for innovative cinema at Diagonale 2006 and the New Visions Award at cph:dox 2006. For “Flaschenpost” Mathes received the Austrian Shortfilm Award at Vienna Independent Shorts 2012.
